The CircusWest youth program, CirKids, is about the circus of storytelling, imagination, and performance.
The programs blend traditional circus arts with dance and theatre to create a physically active program that promotes creativity and expression.
CirKids is a 10 month training program from September to June for children and youth ages 5 to 18 years. Classes are grouped by age at the younger levels and by interest and ability at the higher levels.
CirKids runs seven days a week, with classes after school and evenings during the week, and mornings and afternoons on the weekend. Enrollment is restricted* only for the Centre Stage and Performance programs.
All classes perform at least twice a year at the Winter Walkabout and the Year End Showcase. The Ringmaster and Centre Ring groups may perform at parades and the Centre Stage and Performance Troupe perform at the annual CircusWest production at the PNE Gardens and a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.
Depending on the program, monthly fees include the tuition noted in the Costs column on the right side, performance fees and a refundable volunteer deposit. A once-per-year (September to August) insurance fee of $15 is added to the first month’s costs
